6.45m Arctic Drilling Platform Vessel – Design # 214

This is a unique workboat design with some challenging limitations that dictated the design features and configuration. Size and weight were constrained by the crane capacity as well as the aperture of the hull side access storage area on the drilling platform. This vessel operates as a general tender and workboat for the drilling platform.

The vessel is hoisted via a single point lift so the LCG needed to be assessed with extreme accuracy.

As this vessel operates in slushy, icy water we designed an integral keel cooler which covers ~ ¼ of the projected waterplane.

In summary a design dedicated to fulfilling a very particular role.
