This design is an upgraded and extended version of our earlier 10.5m QRV TwinJet RHIB (design #112). The first hull is currently under construction by AMF Boats (Whanganui) for the Coastguard NZ unit at Tairua/Pauanui on the scenic coromandel Pensinsula.
Many NZ Coastguard units are now needing replacement vessels and generally the requirement is for increased range and towing capability. As such this design complies fully with MNZ Part 40C rules for unrestricted Coastal operation.
Those with a keen eye comparing with the earlier 10.5m design will not the increased engine power and jet size, the increased freeboard and hull length plus the addition of an aft bulkhead/door enclosing the previously open deckhouse.
The result is an extremely capable vessel, suitable for the increased demands of a busy NZ Coastguard unit.
