12 metre Fast Response D-RHIB – Design #184
Although this design is still at the conceptual stage as a police/patrol vessel there has been interest for a rescue utilisation so it is shown here with “Coastguard” livery.
That being said the spec’s show a power range from 750 to 1050 Hp. Top speeds in normal load condition will be in the range of 38 to 46 knots. There is a further possible option to step the planing surface in order to enhance the speed potential. The design could also be converted for sterndrive or waterjet propulsion.
In line with all our previous RHIB designs this one also benefits from a rugged marine-grade aluminium alloy hull structure, which is pretty much the material of choice for vessels of this type and utilisation. Scantlings exceed the minimums required by ISO and other classification societies.
Furthermore this design complies with ISO and/or national maritime authorities with regard to stability and buoyancy, quick-draining recesses, watertightness etc.
In summary an exciting vessel with many potential utilisations such as Search And Rescue (SAR), Piloting, Police and Patrol etc.
