DVD 7.3m Aluminium Centre Console RHIB – Fast Response Vessel – Design #134A
Another smaller RHIB produced in collaboration with Kanter Marine. This one has, to my eye, an extremely sweet hull which is actually a development of our earlier 7.5m Shallow Deadrise Waterjet RHIB – design #090. This design was initially built as a demo vessel, to showcase the various advantages and features and possibilities inherent in working vessels in this size range.
Essentially this design differs from #090 in that it is now outboard powered and the hull deadrise has been increased from 12° to a much more seakindly 21°, resulting in a hull shape that we are very pleased with. Carrying capacity is increased, deck space is huge by virtue of the D-shape inflatable collar (see photo’s). This design also shows the rounded off front end in plan view, which means the inflatable collar is less likely to be pinched off/punctured by backing structure when nosing up to other vessels etc.
Various versions of this design have been built, with walk-around consoles placed forward or amidships (or aft if so desired) and there is potentially a concept for an enclosed cabin for leisure or patrol/rescue use. Power in various configurations up to 400 Hp is feasible, resulting in speeds over 45 knots.
